While most interviewees were prompted to give some details of their personal lives, the bulk of the conversation concerns their role in mathematics and how they personally view the discipline. A large percentage of the more interesting factoids were uttered by the women mathematicians, all were old enough to have "grown up" mathematically at a time when women faced systemic gender bias. Most of the interviews were originally published in journals and there are many photos.
