A Textbook of Modern Toxicology (Hodgson, A Textbook of Modern Toxicology) ReviewI teach toxicology to physicians. It is tough to bridge both the theoretical side and the clinical side and not be too boring. This book is about as good as there is out there, but it is a little irregular in depth. But it is readable.
Hazardous Material Toxicology by Sullivan and Krieger is great for physicians but is thin on the theoretical aspects.
Cassaret and Doull is better suited for full time toxicologists and people with insomnia.A Textbook of Modern Toxicology (Hodgson, A Textbook of Modern Toxicology) Overview

Nancy Caroline's Emergency Care in the Streets, Sixth Edition ReviewI understand that as a paramedic student you don't usually have your choice of which book to go by for the class, but if this is the book that you're using you're in luck. The book is a very good source of information and it does a good job of not making everything boring as it includes pictures and cartoons in all of it's chapters. At the same time though, it doesn't overdo it with the cartoons as some books will do. The book also references a website which I have used quite a bit for the vocabulary. In the back of the book there is a section containing all of the drugs we use and plenty of detail on each of them. The only chapter of the book that we aren't using is the Cardiac Emergencies chapter, as we are using a completely separate cardiology book. Our college gave the instructors a choice of which book they wanted to use for our class, and they chose this because it would "best prepare us for the national registry testing."Nancy Caroline's Emergency Care in the Streets, Sixth Edition Overview
