Justice in June ReviewI am an avid mystery reader and enjoyed Levenson's "Justice in June" except that she really, really needed a proof reader. I don't know if it was the publisher's fault or where to place the blame but the copy I received as a gift (my adult daughter purchased it at a book-signing event for the author) had HUGE errors. I would be reading along and then the next page would have absolutely nothing to do with the page I just read. This happened twice and was very disconcerting. I had to backtrack or go forward to find where I should be. One chapter was repeated twice.The mystery itself was fun and an easy read. The book is fast-paced (once I got over the editing errors) and a definite page turner. There are several stories running concurrently so that adds to the interest. Many of the other reviewers have described the plot (which is not very helpful when describing a mystery - part of the enjoyment of the read is discovering the plot unfold yourself) so I will not.
I'm concerned about purchasing Levenson's first book for fear the same editing problems will get in the way. I noticed that I have a first edition - perhaps other editions will not have the same errors. Levenson is a talented writer and I hope she either gets another publisher or hires a final proof reader herself.Justice in June Overview
