The Natural: How to Effortlessly Attract the Women You Want ReviewFull disclosure: I know Rich (the author). And I run a competing business to his. But I respect him, what he teaches, and what's in this book... hence this review.
Overall... great book. Don't come into it expecting The Game Redux. There's some personal narrative at the beginning, but it's short and sweet - enough so you can get to know what Rich is all about and where he's come from.
And that's the first thing you need to know. This guy was a massive zero. It was interesting to read his backstory - grew up in a bad neighborhood, without a father, got beat up a lot at school... Rich had it pretty darn bad. It's inspiring for anyone to read about it, and know that the change is possible.
The rest of the book contains a lot of gems of advice on starting conversations (he's got some great, unique openers), how to turn up the heat - all of the essentials that guys need to know, as taught by a guy who really knows it.
But the other thing you need to know is what Rich teaches about connecting with a girl. I know so many guys who need to read this material and have it drilled into them by a team of highly trained monkeys. For any guy who doesn't see his first dates become second dates, and who feels like he's "pulling teeth" to get girls to talk to him, this is required reading. The book is worth it for this one small part of it alone.
My general attitude about buying books on self-improvement is this: buy everything, read as much as you can, and if you don't like it, you can take advantage of Amazon's incredibly generous return policy. When it comes to social and "pickup" skills, you've gotta take it all in and see what works for you - I've been in a relationship for three years, and I still read books and whatnot that's released by the people I respect in this crazy little world of men's dating and social advice. And as far as books on learning "game" go, this one is a winner.
